Post-CONFERENCE TOUR
One Full day tour Sept.24, 2016
This tour offers you three places to enrich your experience.

The first stop will be ล visit to the Golden Stupa, the largest in Thailand, it is situated in Nakhonpathom, the province where the conference is being held. The archaeological site informs US that it was dated back to Asoka's period when he sent out Venerables Sona and Uttara to Suvarnbhumi. The dharmacakra (the wheel of dhamma) was discovered in this area. The Stupa stands on a site where it was previously yet another older stupa. The present one was rebuilt on the former one and completed in King Rama the Vi's period.

The second stop will be the Sanam Chan Palace, summer palace of King Rama VI. Behind the standing Buddha at the stupa one can pay respect to the ashes of the King. Sanam Chan palace covers 3 major buildings allowing US to learn more about the life and work of the King.

Lunch will be hosted at Songdhammakalyani Temple. Some of the participants stay here, for those who stay at the hotel, this will be an opportunity for you to view and get blessing from the Medicine Buddha, first largest one in Thailand. Also you can view the thirteen Enlightened Theris from the Buddha's time.

The last stop will take you out to Rajburi, another province in the neighborhood to spend a more relaxing time at a wax museum. Here you will see various leading monks who were masters in their time. It is well displayed, so you get to see also the setting of the residences from various part of Thailand. Here you will have an opportunity to take home a beautiful Avalokitesvara statue amidst natural setting.

You will be back at your hotel by 5 PM. The cost worked out for this trip is $50 ONLY, and everything is included (lunch, entrance tickets, cold mineral water, juice, tea/coffee). This trip is for select 50 only hence, early booking will be better.
