In The Manual of the Greatest of Men (Uttama-purisa-dipani), five best opportunities that are difficult to obtain (Dullabha):
(1) Birth as a human being which is difficult to obtain (manussatta-bhava-
dullabha ),
(2) Encountering a Buddha which is difficult to obtain (Buddhuppada-
dullabha),
(3) Obtaining the going forth (as a bhikkhu) which is difficult to obtain
(pabbajita-bhava-dullabha)
(4) Attaining confidence (in the Triple Gem) which is difficult to obtain.
(saddha-sampattiyo-dullabh
(5) Hearing the True Doctrine which is extremely difficult to obtain
(Saddhamma-savanam atidullabha).
