Appamàdena, bhikkhave, sampàdetha.
Dullabho Buddhuppàdo lokasmiṁ.
Dullabho manussatta-paṭilàbho.
Dullabhà khaṇa-sampatti.
Dullabhà saddhà-sampatti, Dullabhà pabbajjà.
Dullabhaṁ Saddhammasavaṇan”ti.
Evaṁ Bhagavà divase divase ovàdi,
Evaṁ Sugato divase divase ovadi.

Monks, strive with heedfulness.
Rare is it that Buddhas arise in the world.
Rare is it that [one] obtains a human [birth].
Rare is it to have the good fortune of [being in the right] time [and place to come in contact with the Dhamma].
Rare is it that [one] is endowed with faith.
Rare is [it that there is the opportunity to take] the going forth.
Rare is [it that there is the opportunity for] listening to the Dhamma.
Thus the Blessed One exhorted daily, thus the Well-fared One exhorted daily.
「諸比丘，應不放逸地奮鬥至成就！
佛現於世甚難得；
獲得人身甚難得；
遇對時機甚難得；
具足正信甚難得；
出家機會甚難得；
聽聞正法甚難得。」
世尊如是天天教誡， 善逝如是天天教誡。
